March 12th is around the corner another Super Sunday is coming, the Academy Awards is celebrating their 95th party Los Angeles will host the red carpet. It is hard to predict a football match as only two teams are involved, a category which has five to ten nominates. It’s five to ten times harder to predict. So who will be celebrating and who will be wailing?

Best Picture
The favorite: Everything Everywhere All At Once – yeah, in every alternate reality, this multiverse of madness takes the top gong.
The one with a lot of chances: All Quiet On The Western Front – the WWI drama’s BAFTA win and best 2022 impression could end up holding an Oscar.
The bench: The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, Women Talking, Avatar: The Way of Water, Tár, The Fabelmans, Triangle of Sadness.
And the Oscar goes to…
Who knows? But don’t rule out yet Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front. It’s much admired along Hollywood and comparisons to the Russian and Ukrainian conflict may well catch on voters’ minds plus is an amazing film honestly.
Best Director
The favorite: Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert – those innovative Daniels boys are Everything Everywhere right now.
The one with a lot of chances: Steven Spielberg – sentiment for the world’s most successful director may yet tip the scales.
The bench: Martin McDonagh, Ruben Östlund, Todd Field.
Best Actor
The favorite: Brendan Fraser – Because the ‘Brenaissance’ is impossible to ignore, especially for this once in a lifetime role.
The one with a lot of chances: Austin Butler – he won the BAFTA for his astounding Elvis, so could yet be the King.
The bench: Colin Farrell, Paul Mescal, Bill Nighy.
Best Actress
The favorite: Michelle Yeoh – the rising tide for Everything Everywhere should just see Yeoh sneak it.
The one with a lot of chances:Cate Blanchett – the masterful actress has nearly swept the lot for her conductor in Tár.
The bench: Ana de Armas, Michelle Williams, Andrea Riseborough
Best Supporting Actor
The favorite: Ke Huy Quan – Everything Everywhere’s ultra-loveable Quan is surely the Oscars’ one sure thing this year.
The one with a lot of chances: Barry Keoghan – Keoghan’s Banshees turn captured BAFTA hearts, he has already ours and could yet do the same with Academy ones.
The bench: Brian Tyree Henry, Judd Hirsch, Brendan Gleeson.
Best Supporting Actress
The favorite: Angela Bassett – the veteran star rocks in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and has a career that deserves rewarding.
The one with a lot of chances: Jamie Lee Curtis – another hugely popular Everything Everywhere alumni, whose Oscar-less career is every bit as rich as Bassett’s.
The bench:Stephanie Hsu, Hong Chau, Kerry Condon.
Best Animated future
The Golden Globe Award for animated feature film was taken by “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” making Netflix the first streamer to win the category. Del Toro made history for himself, too, as the first Mexican-Latino winner. Looks like he can do it in Los Angeles too. We will see if PIXAR lets him go to Mexico with the prize, “Turning Red” , the story of a girl who turns into a giant Panda anytime she gets too excited.
